Alert sounds have stopped working despite being selected for certain actions

Description
A few weeks ago, without changing any settings, the sounds I had set up for certain alerts (like certain words being mentioned in chat) are no longer working. The only sound that still works is when the program first starts up, and the previews of the sounds also work when I'm in preferences.
