Nightly wont launch under Panther

Description

I was running 2D33 fine under Panther, but got annoyed that /list was not working, so I tried the latest nightly (2D39) and it crashes at launch. I do have Tiger on another machine, but there are various reasons why I have to use IRC under Panther. Please fix!
