Description

Some work has already be done on HTTP Proxy support in [3117], but this is still not completed as the proxy options are still greyed out in the UI (new connection window).

This is necessary for people on campuses who only have connection to the Internet thru CONNECT-enabled HTTP proxies.

Components : both Chat Core (IRC) and Colloquy (GUI).

There is a patch by Rarok for Proxy Support using the built in OS X Proxy in Ticket 1229

This would be great if the patch could be landed on trunk.

AFAIK the  Roaming Wi-Fi network that currently covers our building does involve authenticating proxy servers.

However:  this infrastructure will be superseded by eduroam (which does not require proxy authentication) so if there's anything that you'd like me to test, sooner rather than later would be good for me.

+1 to trunk.

OT from Colloquy, note to self: when this ticket:747 is progressed, a review of  http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=95881 may be timely.
